40D Test Out in Poor Lighting Condition
I brought my new 40D for a wedding shoot out on Saturday, it was pretty fast responsive and easy on my hands. Reviewing photos in 3″ LCD is GOOD! But I was more looking forward to bring it to my church for a better test out. The church is extremely dim, the photography team always have the headache to get a better photo because we don’t have a fast lens as those are expensive glasses and many of us are students or just simply can’t afford one. Most affordable fast lens are the 50mm f/1.8, which is not practical in most cases, because its fixed focal length. We do utilize the it many times too, for those who have.
Well, rest the case. I want to check out my 40D’s ISO3200 *wink* It is not as impressive as I thought so, not as good as Nikon flagship D3/D300, and EOS 5D. Ok, I know those are in different league. ;p But I find the photos are useful too in ISO3200. Despite both of my zoom lens are f/4, photos being captured are pretty, er… good? Let’s see. By the way, underexposed is not very well an issue here ;p
For record, all photos here taken at ISO3200, between 1/40 – 1/80, f/4 all time on EF 17-40mm f/4L USM & EF 70-200 f/4L USM. No post-processing, only resized and framed.

At these sizes, not much or even no visible noise noticed. I don’t seem to find it useful to show you a 100% crop. So don’t ask -,-”
