From now onwards, I will be using this cool thing call Digital ID, aka Digital Signature, in my document. When you receive a quotation from me, in a pdf form, there’s a field named digital signature, to be signed by you. In order for it to be legitimate, the document has to be signed. In other word, the quotation will served as the contractual agreement that is an act which is enforceable in a court of law as well.
How Do I Sign The Contract?
1. Open the .pdf that I have sent to you. Click on the Highlight Fields on the purple bar on top of the page to highlight form input field.
2. Scroll all the way down. You should see the Signature field on left. When you point your mouse cursor, it says Click to sign. So, click on it.
3. So a dialog box prompt you. If you already have a digital ID, go ahead and select it to sign the document. Otherwise, select the second option to create a new digital ID.![]()
4. You may want to select the first options, as is the more common format rather than second one, only limited to Windows applications.![]()
5. Fill in as much as details in the form. If you want to include Chinese character as well, check the Enable Unicode Support tick box. Here, I included Chinese character for the demo. I chose 2048-bit RSA algorithm, because I think it is stronger than 1024-bit.![]()
6. Now, choose a location to save your newly created digital ID, and type in your password to access the file. Mind that it has to be at least six character for the password.![]()
7. Once you click Finish, the next box prompt. You can directly sign on the document by typing your password in to the password field. Or you can change the appearance of the signature. The options are standard text or graphical, usually your hand signature. So for that, you must have your hand signature scanned. If you already have that, go ahead and create new appearance.
8. You just have to name the sign with a title, and configure the graphic and text to appear as you like it to be. And after that you are good to go.![]()
9. Click OK and return to the document. You will be able to see your newly created digital signature being inserted into the document. When you exit, Adobe Reader will prompt you to save the file. Save it and the document is now been signed.
